ceiling moldings

Can anyone tell me how to cut inside and outside ceiling moldings? Is there a website with a diagram? While I have cut and installed chair rail and baseboard moldings, I have never installed ceiling moldings.

Picture your baseboard molding on the ceiling,when your going into a corner make the first cut / then the next cut start with this cut\.

On the back side of the molding, there are two flat surfaces. One that goes against the wall and the other against the ceiling. You will have to hold the molding in this position while mitering. It's tricky but to get a proper mitre any molding has to be cut in the position it would be in when installed.

Upside down works best in the mitre box for crown but then you have to think upside down. then there is the question of to cope or not to cope. Coping is a technique professional carpenters use on inside corners. It is easy to show someone but not too easy to describe in words. There might be someone at the hd who could show you but i wouldn't count on that being correct. Usually for painted crown a couple of 45 degree cuts for the inside corner will do but that would not be how I would do it. HS

I am curious as to why no one has mentioned that some crown has different angles on top and bottom which affects the angles to be cut. If my memory serves me right. I wasted some crown once trying to cut it 45.
